Evelyn Andersen

Through my art I seek to express what is deep within my soul. It is not merely an intellectual transmission of ideas; it is emotional and heartfelt—a transmission of my unconscious on to the canvas. As I have matured, I see the need for silence. In a quiet, centered state I can hear the voice of my painting. I then experience a silent working spirit that leads me to a place I had never imagined. The endless variations of form and texture in nature are the source of my inspiration. My use of color is expressive rather than realistic. It comes from an inner excitement and intuitive awareness. These elements combine to form strength to my work and provide me with an outlet for creating a world that never was and that is totally unique to me. I hope that all who view my work will experience it as a source of enrichment and peace.
