My ceramic sculpture is based in my Nicoyan Indian heritage. After learning the indigenous side of the craft from my teacher Gregorio Bracamonte I began to establish a personal stamp that would define my work as both traditional and contemporary. I have been fortunate to be featured in international exhibitions around Europe and Latin America, two years ago I was invited and participated in a solo show at the Smithsonian Indian Museum. As I continue to explore the levels of my work I teach a younger generation while I develop new styles and techniques. My work is still burnished with stone like the ancient times but refined in design concepts and colors. It would be a pleasure to participate in the New York City event.
